Perplexing Aesthetics Part One

wiki says about aesthetics:

“…scientifically defined as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste.^[2]”

I was watching a movie just now with carey grant about him living on a houseboat after, i believe, their house burned down and his wife died etc etc etc but as i was looking at this house boat I was wondering why it was so attractive, charming and beautiful to me. It was after all, just a simple boxy structure. But it was the lattice work that made it different. Thats the only thing that set it apart from being a shed on a sled. This flimsy see-through network of circles and crossings made me want to be there. It made me feel safe, content, where-as a hull with a box on it would probably make me feel cold and wet.
